Nature at Night! Identifying Moths
August 18 @ 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Grab your flashlight or headlamp and join us for a guided night time stroll through the trails of our Templin Woods Preserve as we explore the hidden world of moths.
Due to their nocturnal nature, moths are often overlooked in the bug world. Surprisingly, moth populations largely outnumber their daytime cousins, the butterfly by 10 to 1. And there are nearly 11,000 species of moths in the United States alone!
Led by French & Pickering’s Jim Moffett and Amy Langman and nature enthusiast Mike Slater, attendees will learn how to attract and identify a variety of these fascinating winged-insects of the night. This is a black light event – you won’t want to miss out on this unique French & Pickering program!
Registration required. Free to attend. Space is limited. Early registration is recommended.
