We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities at our Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve , Templin Woods Preserve, and other protected lands. Learn new skills, give back to nature, and meet others committed to conservation.
Tree Plantings and Preserve Maintenance
Join us for a day of planting trees, tending to plantings, removing invasives, or cleaning up trails. No experience required!
Nest Box Monitoring and Maintenance
We’re working to restore habitat and strengthen wildlife populations. Support our Eastern Bluebird and Chickadee conservation programs by assisting with nest box maintenance, monitoring nests, and recording data.
Join our Conservation Corps
Contribute to a healthier environment through long-term commitment. French & Pickering’s Conservation Corps volunteers receive hands-on training that enable them to grow and learn as new stewards of open space. With time, your knowledge will allow you to work independently on projects throughout French & Pickering’s preserved land, train other volunteers, and educate your friends and family on successful land management practices that they can incorporate into their yards and green spaces.
Through monthly workdays, volunteers will participate in a variety of projects including:
- Trail maintenance
- Tree plantings
- Tree planting maintenance
- Meadow plantings
- Invasive plant management

Don’t want an ongoing commitment? Help with the French Creek Iron Tour! It is a one-day event and we need more than 100 volunteers to make it a success.
