Karl Russek, Conservation Coordinator
As Conservation Coordinator, Karl Russek supports Conservation Director, Pam Brown in identifying and negotiating land preservation opportunities throughout the French and Pickering Creeks watersheds.
Karl is a proud resident of the Hopewell Big Woods in North Coventry Township and has over 30 years of experience in the areas of environmental assessment and restoration, natural resource and biodiversity damage assessment, environmental finance, and stakeholder management in the United States and globally. He earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Quality Science from the University of Alaska where he focused assessment and restoration of freshwater systems.
Karl most recently served as the Director of Programs and Applied research at the Water Center of the University of Pennsylvania, where he remains a Senior Advisor, where his work focused on building partnerships for integrated watershed management across the urban/rural divide.
Previously, Karl spent the bulk of his career building and managing the international environmental risk business for a leading global insurer. Karl is excited to work with French & Pickering to help make an enduring impact for future generations close to home.
