Shelby Coulton
Program and Communications Coordinator
In her own words, Shelby describes why she loves working with the team at French & Pickering:
“I am grateful that my role at French & Pickering allows me to work with an incredible group of people while making a positive impact on environmental conservation. I feel satisfaction knowing our work helps the people, wildlife, and habitats of northern Chester County.”
Shelby Coulton has felt a passion for nature for as long as she can remember. Growing up in Mercer County, New Jersey, Shelby lived just minutes from the banks of the Delaware River and a variety of local trails, creeks, and canal paths- allowing for plenty of outdoor exploration. Following college, Shelby began working at the Mercer County Wildlife Center as a Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician, where she was able to treat and release injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife.
Prior to joining French & Pickering, Shelby gained experience in the nonprofit sphere while working as Communications Intern for the Coalition for the Delaware River Watershed. In December 2022, Shelby joined the French & Pickering team. Her primary responsibilities include creating our digital content, managing our social media presence, and assisting in the coordination of programs and events.
In her spare time, Shelby loves hiking, baking, visiting farmer’s markets, going on walks with her dogs, and tending to her garden and houseplants.
Interesting fact: Shelby discovered her love for songbirds while working at the Mercer County Wildlife Center. Her favorites include Black-capped Chickadees and Cedar Waxwings!
