Jim Moffett
Preserve Manager
In his own words, Jim describes why French & Pickering is a natural fit:
“I get great satisfaction when I have an opportunity to interact with visitors who have had a positive experience visiting one of our preserves. Whether it’s an animal or bird sighting, exploring a new trail or finding peace just sitting on a bench along the creek, it’s these experiences that will bring people back and have them value what we do here at French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust!”
An avid volunteer since 2012, Jim Moffett joined French & Pickering full time as Preserve Manager in the spring of 2022. In addition to managing our Thomas P. Bentley and Templin Woods Nature Preserves, Jim implements improvements to enhance visitor experience, including creating new trails, improving habitat to attract great biodiversity and maintaining the Warwick Furnace ruins. Always grateful for helping hands, he also plans and leads volunteer workdays at the preserves.
Attendees of our free educational programming will recognize Jim as a frequent guide, lending his valuable knowledge as a Master Naturalist to teach plant, tree and wildflower identification skills. He also serves on the Board of Friends of Exton Park and is on the Science Advisory Committee at Great Marsh Institute.

Jim’s love of nature drives his activities outside of French & Pickering as a nature photographer. He strives to capture the joy he feels in his images of nature in hopes of sharing that wonder and beauty with others.
Interesting Fact: Jim loves playing guitar and going to rock concerts.
