Carriage Rest at the Ruins

Witness a unique sight in today’s modern world! Join the Brandywine Valley Driving Club as their carriages and horses take a mid-morning break at the Warwick Furnace ruins in our Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve. Enjoy some wonderful refreshments yourself as horses from 8 carriages refuel on their pleasure drive along the grounds where General Washington and his troops camped to protect the Warwick Furnace from the British.
The Brandywine Valley Driving Club is comprised of 200 carriage driving enthusiasts who hail from PA, NJ, MD and VA. Formed in 1983, this group includes many champion drivers who meet regularly for pleasure drives, education clinics, shows and competitions. Don’t miss out on your chance to see these spectacular turnouts up close!
Dress for the weather. Food & non-alcoholic beverages provided. Restroom will be available.
