Do you ever ask yourself while out on a walk: How old is this tree? or How does one determine this tree’s age? or What has this tree witnessed during its lifetime?

Join tree enthusiast Rob Good and naturalist Michael Rolli on a forest walk around our Thomas P. Bentley Nature Preserve as they help you find, measure, and age some of the oldest trees in the Preserve. Rob and Michael will recount the forest’s history, identify tree species, and demonstrate how you can measure a tree to estimate its age.

Whether you’re a dendrologist (someone who studies trees) or just looking to learn more about big and old trees, all are welcome!

You may bring a measuring tape to age some of the trees yourself if you’d like to!

Registration required. Free to attend.
